Scammers Targeting Business Owners and How to Spot Them...
Please don’t ever respond to a HMRC letter asking for a response by email. This NEVER happens. HMRC will always go through a security protocol before allowing email exchanges.

The same applies for letters. Please be cautious. There are a number of ways to confirm whether a 'HMRC' letter stating an outstanding liability is a scam. For example, the telephone number is confirmed as a scam number when typed into a search engine and the letter's reference does NOT include your UTR number.
